Tolerance is a state in which the body's tissue cells adjust to the presence of a drug. The term "tolerance" refers to a state in which the body becomes used to the presence of a drug in given amounts and eventually fails to respond to ordinarily effective dosages. Hence, increasingly larger doses are necessary to produce desired effects
Tranquilizers:
Drugs prescribed to promote sleep or reduce anxiety; they are benzodiazepines, a class of central nervous system depressants.

Of or being a program designed to assist in the recovery from addiction or compulsive behavior, especially a spiritually-oriented program based on the principles of acknowledging one's personal insufficiency and accepting help from a higher power. The name for the twelve guiding concepts of the Alcoholics Anonymous program for curbing alcohol addiction.
